2 Meter Sailplanes

A friend's Goldberg Gentle Lady over Sands Beach at UCSB in 1985. I learned to fly with one of these in 1984 and found it to be an excellent glider for beginning pilots. Wingspan is 78.25". Handling charactaristics and flight performance seem to be better than the equally popular Dynaflite Wanderer and Airtronics Olympic 650.
Here's Willy's Gentle Lady immediately after an impromtu "landing". The wings are out of frame, to the left, where they landed when the hold-down rubber bands poped off. Uh, that's Willy in the background.
Another friend comissioned me to build him this Sig Riser, don't know what's become of it or if he even still flies it. This is another example of a good beginners glider. The Riser is heavier than the Gentle Lady or the Wanderer, due mainly to the slightly more complex wing structure. It also differs in its slightly higher flying speed and slightly lower manuverability. Wingspan: 78".
A Semi-scale Schweitzer 1-26 from Dave's Aircraft Works.
This is a friend's Dynaflite Wanderer, (originally the Marks Models Wanderer). The Wanderer makes for a rather durable 2 meter glider with good overall manuverablity
